Professional firefighters are those who represent a proud profession in a manner that makes firefighting so much more than just a job.  In turn, these same individuals make Local 1522 more than just a union.  Our professionals are constantly making efforts to promote and protect this great calling.  Often times this may include getting involved in legislative efforts and always involves being active in and educating our community.  This type of unity is essential for the advancement and the protection of firefighters, and is always guided by intelligence and united action, which is the hallmark of trade union organization.  Within New London Fire Fighters Local 1522, we are always working to maintain a higher plane of skill and efficiency.  This being said, New London Fire Fighters are so much more than just these words.

Our members are strong, prepared, resourceful, committed, caring and above all, professional.  Local 1522 is faced with constant challanges, but our devotion to the job and to our city is what drives us to move forward.   We continuously strive to improve our services for our community and give our best to our members.  We work to create an environment that provides each of us the opportunity to reach our potential, and, as good stewards, we use our resources wisely through innovation, conservation, and cooperation.  We achieve all goals through interaction with our members, businesses, co-workers and governmental agencies.
