Many in the public may not know that the fire department responds to and secures the area at utility related emergencies in New London. Recently, NLFF's responded to vehicle crashes that involved downed wires and/or utility poles. The top photo is of a car vs. pole on Pequot Ave. near Green Harbor Beach, the bottom is of a SUV vs. pole on Brainard St. near Amity St. (the former Brainard St. firehouse is visible in the background).
